About the Exodus wallet
Exodus is a multi-currency wallet and currency exchange founded by Daniel Castagnoli and JP Richardson and officially launched in July 2016. Exodus is a multi-currency, “hot” software wallet that allows users to receive, store and transmit their cryptographic portfolios, as well as exchange digital devices with each other on the platform. The Exodus wallet consists of three main components:
- Multi-currency wallet
- Portfolio tracker

Ethereum and ERC20 Token support
ERC20 tokens are cryptocurrencies made on the Ethereum protocol. These tokens follow ERC20 rules in order to be compatible with the protocol. To send any ERC20 token to another wallet, you must provide the sender with a sufficient amount of ether to cover. This fee, also known as gas, depends on the complexity of the transaction.
If you use a desktop or Safe client, Exodus Wallet provides support for ERC20 tokens, however, mobile users cannot store these tokens in their Exodus wallet. In addition, users cannot exchange ERC20 tokens in the Exodus built-in control panel.
Native Exchange
To make things more convenient for users, Exodus has integrated the money changer into its wallet. Although the fees are higher than for regular exchanges, it is much easier for users to exchange their cryptocurrencies on the stock exchange.
While all cryptocurrencies natively supported by Exodus can be traded on the stock exchange, ERC20 tokens cannot. ERC20 tokens can only be stored, sent and received, but are not supported by the swap.

Wallet Backup
Exodus allows users to use a 12-word core to back up their wallet. According to Exodus, “Backing up your wallet is key to the security of your blockchain assets and allows you to regain access to your funds on another device in the event of an event such as a device failure, theft or loss.”
Normally, users write this 12 word phrase on a piece of paper, however, the paper is vulnerable to God’s actions like fire and flood. Billfodl is for cryptocurrency wallets on the market today, featuring 316 laser-cut stainless steel units and tiles with various pre-engraved numbers and letters. Using the included tiles, you recreate the core you received when you set up your wallet and then hide the unit in a safe place for as long as you need it. Check out Billfodl and sleep like a baby, knowing your cryptographic file is secure.
Summary
Exodus is a good mix of security features and storage / trading features. It offers support for more than 100 cryptocurrencies, as well as a number of ERC20 tokens, perfect for anyone looking to diversify their portfolio. In addition, it can be integrated with the Safe hardware for maximum security and safety. The availability and ease of use of your exchange makes it a wonderful wallet. However, stock exchange transaction fees can sometimes be quite steep.
