Introduction to Sports
Sports is commonly defined as a physical activity that involves a certain level of competitive competition, like basketball or netball. Many forms of physical recreation and even some sports are known as sports. An athlete in a particular sport is sometimes known as a sportsperson. There are various sports activities and sports competitions around the world. One can take part in any one of these sports for fun or for the pursuit of professional success.
In earlier times, when there was no proper physical education, sports was not as popular as it is in today’s world. But this has changed and sports have become almost a necessity for students. As one continues to grow up with sports, both amateur and professional sportspersons try to improve their sports skills. Athlete strive to attain international sports scholarships, while students strive to complete a bachelor’s degree program in a specific sport in order to pursue professional careers in sports, like basketball, tennis, table tennis, football, hockey and swimming etc.
Professional athletes in most sports have also become millionaires, thanks to the support of sponsors. These athletes give much importance to their body and health and dedicate much energy to their practice and training regimes. The modern sports industry is a huge one and sportspersons from all over the world have made careers out of sports. Professional wrestlers like Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Randy Couture, and others have become multi-millionaire athletes.
