Sports (or sports) is any forms of typically competitive physical activity that, through organised or casual competition, aim to employ, enhance or maintain personal physical prowess and abilities while also providing entertainment for participants, and sometimes, spectators. The term can also be used to refer to a set of activities or sports that require special training and knowledge outside of the sports itself, which may be competitive or non-competitive. The most common sports seen today are the following: athletics, motor sports, track & field, ice skating, rugby, Australian Football, polo, cricket, golf, tennis and softball. In addition, there are various non-sport activities that are common in high schools, colleges and universities which are designed to further an individual’s education and skill sets.
Association football is one of the most popular sports in the world with many countries hosting international association football tournaments, such as the World Cup, which is a multi-year event. International association football is governed by a system of professional leagues or Associations, whose competitions often include teams from various countries. This sport can be enjoyed by people of all ages but is most common amongst teenagers and young adults. Association football is a physical fitness based sport where players run, tackle and throw during a game. The game is generally played between two teams with each team designated to either the home or away side.
Whilst playing any of these games, it is important to keep fit and healthy through regular exercise and participation in various types of sports and recreational pursuits. These sports help develop your body, both mentally and physically, and build up your self-esteem and social skills as well as teaching you the importance of fair play. Sports help to develop your overall physical strength as well as your endurance and agility and they will help you to build up your self-belief, confidence and your self-respect. They will also teach you to be competitive, and this helps to give you the drive and determination you need to become a better person both socially and personally.
